Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson will be receiving a Governor’s Volunteer Award from Governor Kim Reynolds during a special recognition ceremony in Pleasant Hill.

Anderson was nominated for the award after he assisted the West Burlington Fire Department in the planning for the funeral and visitation of the Line of Duty Death of Firefighter Jim Franciskovich. Anderson met several times face-to-face with the local officials, assisted with writing the Incident Action Plan, and assisted the fire and police departments with logistics. This was done on his own time. His nomination said he was invaluable to the local fire department, law enforcement, the city, and emergency management during this event.

Anderson will join fellow Marion County residents Myles and Mary Jane Murphy, Don and Margaret Long, Chuck Reeves, and the American Legion Post 168 as they receive their Governor’s Volunteer Awards on September 25th.
