After cramming five meets into the first two weeks of the season, the Pella Christian cross country teams finally got a chance to get their legs back under them this week and are ready to return to competition tomorrow in Monroe. On this week’s Marion County PM Sports Page program, KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall talked with Leah Breon, Demaris Worthington, Jacob Lensing and Ryen Van Vark about the team’s progress up to this point, what type of terrain they run best on, and what challenges and goals lie in front of them.

Twin Cedars notched their first win of the season this past Friday night, a 50-20 Homecoming victory over East Union. Earlier this month, 2012 PCM graduate Dalton Kingery successfully defended his state title in Saddle Bronc Riding with a strong finish to his season at the 2012 Iowa High School Rodeo Association State Finals. With a berth at the National Finals Rodeo in Saddle Bronc Riding – along with qualifying in Bareback Riding – under his belt, Kingery continues to train and compete; not only for the national competition, but for his future. The aspiring professional rider and former wrestling standout at PCM talked with KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall on this week’s Marion County PM Sports Page program about his past, why he plans to make a career out of the sport he loves, and what it means to him to be a cowboy.
