Many homeowners will spend some time in their yard this weekend, tending to their gardens and doing some work on their lawns. Knoxville Community Services Officer Arlene Worrall says that it may be a good chance to take a look up and assess your trees as well. Knoxville City Code says that trees and branches overhanging the sidewalk must be at least eight feet above the ground. Those overhanging streets and passable alleys need to be 16 feet above ground. Worrall says Knoxville has beautiful neighborhoods, and these regulations help walkers and other locals enjoy themselves and the area.
