Winners of the KNIA/KRLS Business and Broadcasting Scholarship have been announced. Congratulations to Megan Card of Pella and Shauna Lynn Schmitt of Knoxville. KNIAKRLS awards two scholarships each year to two area seniors who plan to pursue a degree in business or broadcasting. Card will study Contemporary Media and Journalism at the University of South Dakota and Schmitt will attend Cottey College for a degree in Speech Communications with an emphasis on Business. KNIAKRLS General Manager Jim Butler says it’s more difficult every year to choose among all the applicants. In addition to supporting our area students, the scholarships are intended to encourage graduates to come back to work in Marion County.
