The human cost of Teresa Miller’s murder was clearly seen as Teresa’s family shared their feelings with the court and the two men found guilty of killing Teresa in Friday’s sentencing hearing. Michael Miller and Terry Cobbins, Jr. received life sentences without parole Friday morning in Marion County District Court. Teresa’s children and sister took the stand to talk about their loss. They shared how unstable their lives has felt since Teresa was killed, with some saying they’ve had trouble sleeping. Teresa’s daughters, Brandy and Shawna Mendenhall, and Teresa’s sister, Patty Dailey, all called Michael Miller and Cobbins “evil” at one point during their statements. Teresa’s son, Bill Mendenhall, said that the grandchildren are the ones that will be most impacted, as they won’t be able to share the joys of growing up with their grandmother.
