Monroe begins celebrating their 113th Annual Old Settlers Celebration Friday evening. “Jungle Fever” is the theme for the children’s parade, which will stretch from west of the Post Office to the square. Other events on the evening include the firemen’s water fights, a couples horseshoe pitch, crazy go-cart races, and a performance by the community band. Old Settlers Day continues all day Saturday in Monroe.
