For the second time in less than a week, the Melcher-Dallas softball team enacted the 10-run rule against Mormon Trail – though this time it extended their season by a game – as the Saints downed the Bluegrass Conference’s other Saints team Monday night 11-0.

It was a fun night in Bussey for the Twin Cedars softball and baseball teams, as they notched respective 11-0 (5 innings) and 8-0 wins over Mormon Trail.

Coy Moore pitched five innings of no-hit baseball and the Twin Cedars baseball team breezed to a 12-1 win at Mormon Trail Tuesday night.

The boys basketball teams at Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars opened Bluegrass Conference tournament play last night in Humeston with split results, as the Sabers notched a 62-59 win over host Mormon Trail, while the Saints fell 74-53 against Moulton-Udell.

The Twin Cedars girls and boys basketball teams notched a pair of victories against visiting Mormon Trail – as the Saber girls won 46-31 and the boys stretched their win streak to five games with a 62-51 triumph.
Behind 18 points from Alee Hugen, the Twin Cedars girls were able to improve their record to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in Bluegrass Conference play.
The boys game saw three players reach double figures for Twin Cedars, led by 19 points from Otis Roby. Eric Clark and Cody Moore added 13 and 12 points, respectively. The Sabers are 6-4 overall and 4-0 in league play.
Both Twin Cedars basketball teams are at home today for a non-conference clash with Ankeny Christian Academy.

The Twin Cedars girls will try and rebound from a heart-breaking loss to Moravia on Tuesday night, while the boys try and keep the momentum rolling forward with a pair of Bluegrass Conference games tomorrow night against Mormon Trail.
