After losing by a big margin on Friday in their first day of the Murray tournament, the Melcher-Dallas softball team recovered nicely and picked up two key wins on Saturday. The morning started with a 12 – 11, eight-inning triumph over East Union. The Saints were down 8 – 1 after the fourth inning. They used that momentum to carry them to an easy 14 – 2, three-inning victory against Orient-Macksburg. Kirsten Mull stood out to head coach, Nick Ellis. She went 3-for-5 with five RBIs and a pair of runs scored. The two wins improve Melcher’s mark to 4 – 6, and they’ll resume play on Monday at I-35.
