On the heels of their first Iowa Conference victory in their last four tries, the Central men’s basketball team will try to topple Luther for the second time this season tonight inside of P.H. Kuyper Gym. The Dutch men led wire-to-wire in an 84 – 63 thrashing of Coe on Saturday. Central will try to build on their success against a team they thumped 88 – 74 back on January 6. They had another consistent 40-minute effort in that game, shooting almost 47% from the field, and out-rebounding the Norse, 42 – 35. Coach Craig Douma says Luther won’t throw many surprises their way. Central’s women fell behind by 20 early to Coe, and battled back to take a late lead before the Kohawks seized control down the stretch. The Dutch got off to a slow start their first time against Luther; they trailed the Norse, 19 – 4 after the first quarter en route to a 65 – 39 loss. Tonight’s twinbill will tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
