PCM Sweeps Struggling Saydel

Posted: Saturday, December 19th, 2015 at 5:52 am

Both PCM squads avenged losses from earlier in the week with a sweep of the Eagles of Saydel last night, the girls winning in a back and forth overtime game 50-47 and the Boys squad leading from start to finish 55-45. The Mustang girls held a 22-18 halftime lead, before relinquishing that in the second half and would trail heading into the 4th quarter 33-31. Junior Kayla Jennings hit one of two free throws with three seconds remaining to tie the score and send the game into overtime, and the Mustangs never looked back dominating the extra period. Kayla Jennings led the Mustangs with 21 points, and the win brings the PCM record to 6-3. Head Coach Jeff Lindsey said that his team’s fortitude to come back was something to be admired. Luke Greiner scored 14 first half points as the Mustangs built a 29-13 halftime lead. A flat third quarter from the Mustangs allowed the Eagles to get back into the game, but the deficit was too large and Logan Gilman took over the game en route to a game high points. The Mustangs are now 5-3 and suit up against Knoxville later today.
