Day one of the State Co-Ed Track and Field Meet was a success for Marion County athletes as 34 events were in action and 13 of those earned medals, including one state championship.

The Iowa High School Track and Field Championships begin Thursday in Des Moines, and the Marion County area will be well-represented by some of the top prep athletes in the state.

The Pella Christian boys soccer team finally returned to action following a 10 day layoff and picked up a 3-1 win at PCM, beating the Mustangs for the second time this season.

The Pella boys track team ran away with another team title at BGM yesterday scoring 157 points winning six events with six second place finishes, PCM was second with 91 and Pella Christian tied for third with 76 points.

P-C-M won the West Marshall Boys Golf Invitational yesterday with a total score of 314 beating Nevada for the title, Pella Christian finished fourth with a 330.
