Pella’s boys bowlers were just edged by Newton at Cardinal Lanes Saturday, falling 2882-2807.

The Little Dutch led by 10 pins after the individual games and extended it after the first two baker rounds, but round three was costly, as the group only knocked down 147 pins compared to Newton’s 234. Outside of that frame, all other matches added up to just 10 pins difference overall. Matt DeJong led the way with 445 pins for the Dutch, 2nd among individuals, followed by 425 for Reid Miller.

Sierra Vander Weert led the girls who could only field three athletes in the head-to-head matchup, as she tallied 253. Pella’s bowlers are at home this coming Saturday when they host Oskaloosa.
