The boys golf teams from PCM, Pella Christian and Pleasantville all competed at Colfax-Mingo on Friday, but ultimately found themselves chasing the host team, as the Tigerhawks shot a combined score of 331 to claim first place at their home course.

Though the cool and breezy conditions were less than ideal for golf, the Pella Christian boys golf team was able to start the 2011 season in fine fashion, as the Eagles took first place at yesterday’s Norwalk Invitational. Drew Stravers shot a 79 at the Willow Creek Golf Club and was the overall medalist, as Pella Christian was one of six varsity squads competing, along with two JV teams from Norwalk. The team will now have more than a week to sharpen their skills in practice before resuming varsity competition on April 12th in Oskaloosa.
