The Pella High School boys and girls cross country teams go into today’s Little Hawkeye Conference meet ranked 4th and 8th, respectively in Class 3A and both sides are hoping to come away with conference titles. Little Dutch Coach Doug Cutler says it’s been his athletes’ goal all season to win conference, and says his veteran leaders have kept the squads on track.

“We’ve got a real experienced team. I don’t have to do as much as people would imagine. These kids are focused on their goals and they want to continually get better,” said Cutler. “A conference title is something that we talked about very early in the season as something that they wanted to achieve, and I think we’ve put ourselves in a position that they should be very competitive.”

Pella will have the home-course advantage, with the meet held on the Central College cross country course. The meet starts at 5:00 p.m.
