The shutouts continued east of our listening area last night as Pella High’s baseball and softball teams did not allow a run at Grinnell last night. Pella’s boys played sharp defense behind a gem from Lucas Hileman in a 2 – 0 win over the Tigers. Hileman allowed only four hits, did not walk a batter, and had four strikeouts. Offensively, Landon Vander Leest and Jaden Rolffs had two hits each, and Grant Judkins contributed an RBI double. Alexa Dingeman got the win on the mound in the 12 – 0 softball win over Grinnell. Sara Tallman went 4-for-5 at the dish for the Lady Dutch with a pair of stolen bases, Dingeman also had four hits at the plate with three RBI, and Alizabeth VanDusseldorp went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Pella baseball improves to 17 – 5 and 11 – 0 in conference play; the ladies are 12 – 10 and 2 – 6, respectively. The girls have the night off to prepare for Pella Christian on Wednesday, and they boys will host Centerville tonight.
