With the bad taste of how the 2013 football season ended washed out of their mouths with how this year has gone so far, Pella High starts the first of hopefully five playoff games tonight at home against Fairfield. The Trojans and Dutch are very familiar with one another this late in the season; Pella prevailed last year over Fairfield, 56 – 14 in round one of the 3A postseason, and in Week Eight of the 2011 regular season, 43 – 0. The Trojans just knocked of Clear Creek – Amana last week, who finished first in their district. Fairfield is led by quarterback Cameron Baumann, who has thrown for over 1,100 yards, but has also thrown 14 interceptions. You can catch tonight’s playoff game streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com, with Andrew Schneider and Randy Sikkema on the call. Pre-game coverage starts at 6:30 p.m. with kick-off at seven. We’ll also have a delayed broadcast on 92.1 KRLS immediately following the Stravers Cellular Football Friday Night Radio Scoreboard show at around 10:00 p.m.
