With a very deep boys cross country squad this season, chosing a seven person roster for the post season was a bit difficult for Pella coach Doug Cutler, but he says they believe they have the seven best runners set to go for today’s District meet in Knoxville.

The Pella volleyball team ended the regular season with a bang last night sweeping Knoxville 25-14, 25-11 and 25-22, completing their second straight undefeated Little Hawkeye Conference season, and won their second consecutive outright conference title.

Pella stayed unbeaten on the season and clinched the Class 3A District Seven championship with a 20-0 win over Fairfield at home on senior night last night, despite committing three turnovers, including two in the red zone.

The Pella volleyball team clinched at least a share of the LHC title last night with a 3-1 win at Norwalk 25-19, 20-25, 25-21 and 25-16.

After back to back lengthy road trips, Pella comes home to the friendly turf tonight to host Fairfield on senior night in their final regular season home game, and a win will earn them the outright Class 3A District Seven title.

The Pella High volleyball team is coming off a very successful week which saw them win their fourth straight Newton Invitational, sweep conference opponents Grinnell and Pella Christian and to cap it off they went 5-0 to win the Pella Invitational on Saturday.

Keokuk ended Pella’s five game streak of not allowing a touchdown when Elliot Vandenberg scored on a three yard run with under a minute to go in the first quarter, but that’s all they would get as Pella pulled away for a 48-7 win to improve to 7-0 on the season and maintain their lead in Class 3A District seven.

Tonight marks the showdown between the top two volleyball teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference, and they just happen to be cross town rivals as Pella, fifth ranked in Class 3A, plays at Pella Christian who’s seventh ranked in Class 2A.
