Area Runners Get One Final Race In During The Senior All-Star Meet

Some local athletes were a part of one final cross country event of their high school careers Saturday at the DMACC Cross Country Course in Ankeny in the Senior All-Star Meet. For the girls it was Pella’s Makayla Kruse finishing in tenth place with a time of 19:18 while Knoxville’s Mickayla McGill finished 52nd in a time of 22:13. Also, Pleasantville’s Joran Dursky ran as she finished 50th in a time of 22:07. All three were running on the East Squad that was edged out by the West 27-29. On the boys side Pella’s Drew Van Hauen placed 28th in a time of 17:10, Van Hauen ran on the East Squad, who lost to the West 15-44.

Area Wrestling Teams Know Where The Postseason Road Begins

The wrestling season does not begin until late November for our area teams, but the Iowa High School Athletic Association has already released the sectional and district groups for this season.
