While many high school student-athletes are facing uncertainty on the status of their seasons, it remains important to stay in good shape. While traditional workout activities may be more difficult to do within the walls of their own homes, there have been programs designed to be done at home without gym equipment. Pleasantville Head Football Coach Mack Jorth says that staying in shape is important not only for the future of his football team, but also for the general well-being during these difficult times.

“It’s actually worked out a lot better than I thought it would. A lot of guys are engaging, having fun, sending us one-minute videos of their workout challenges and things like that. So it’s been a pleasant surprise, it’s been a great opportunity for our leaders to practice being leaders, which is always a great opportunity. It looks like we’ve got a lot of guys at least trying to stay physically active, which is super important for the future of our overall health and well-being. I’m just really glad to see that many guys just be physically active during these difficult times.”

Spring sports are set to resume with practices on May 1st, with most sports beginning competition on May 4th. Soccer, while not offered at Pleasantville, is set to resume across the state on May 8th.
