Pleasantville Football Ends Regular Season With Victory over Central Decatur

While it wasn’t the way the Pleasantville Trojans imagined their last regular season game, but they still came up with a victory over the Cardinals of Central Decatur 28-14. The Trojans, other than the blemish from the Pella Christian Eagles, have been blowing out district opponents but struggled to find their offense.

Hunter Tyree returned a punt for a touchdown for the only score of the first half, and he would not be done for the night as he also contribued a 65 yard touchdown run to put the game away. Chris Morris and Cael Lester both got into the endzone in the third quarter to round out the scoring for the Trojans.

Head Coach Gabe Bakker said that the slow start was due more to the Cardinals controlling the clock, rather than his team being lethargic.The Trojans end their regular season at 8-1, and will await their playoff opponent to be announced this morning at 10am.

Pleasantville Football Looks to Remain Undefeated Through Week Five

After slow starts and strong finishes through their first four games of the season, the Pleasantville Trojan Football Team has a perfect 4-0 record going into their fifth overall and third district game at Woodward Academy. The Knights are winless on the season, but Pleasantville Head Coach Gabe Bakker said that the Trojans are not overlooking Woodward Academy, and there is a bit of a friendly personal battle going on tonight as well. The Trojans continue to rely on a three headed rushing attack from Sawyer Phillips, Hunter Tyree, and Cael Lester who have rushed for 890 yards and 14 touchdowns combined, but have begun implementing a more complicated passing attack from junior quarterback Owen Worthington as well for options later on in the season. The game tonight can be heard live on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA3 stream with Andrew Swadner and Ron Danks on the call. The Iowa State Savings Bank Radio Pregame Show will begin at 6:30 and kickoff is scheduled for 7 at Woodward-Granger High School where the field is located.
