Pleasantville Football Says Goodbye to 13 Seniors

The Pleasantville Trojan Football Team ended their season Monday night in the second round of the playoffs with a 28-0 loss to Gladbrook-Reinbeck. The program enjoyed its most successful season under current head coach Gabe Bakker at 9-2, and now Coach Bakker will have to say goodbye to his first senior class that has spent their entire four years under his direction. Thirteen seniors will leave the program, leaving behind a legacy they can be proud of.
Scout Van Haalen, Zeb Adreon, Brock Busick, Nash Rechkemmer, Brad Wimmer, Gunnar Sampson, Luke Myers, Darren Mcleon, Travis Daggett, Carter Cook, Leo Sampaio, Booker Beier and Ethan Worthington. Pleasantville Head Coach Gabe Bakker says this worked incredibly hard to get themselves to where they are today. The Trojans have plenty of underclassman to try and continue the seniors legacy, Coach Bakker plans on graduating another 13 seniors a year from now with his strong junior class.

Pleasantville Football Looks to Learn From First Loss of Season

The Pleasantville Football Team suffered its first loss in 2015 last Friday night to Mount Ayr 14-24. A first quarter touchdown by the Raiders marked the first time that the Trojans trailed this season, and the 24 points given up nearly doubled their previous mark of only 13 points given up all season.

Pleasantville Football Faces Road Trip to Southeast Warren

The Pleasantville Trojan Football Team faces its third road test in four games tonight when they travel to face the Warhawks of Southeast Warren. The Trojans are coming off a big win against Earlham last week 40-0, their fourth shutout through six games, and look to continue their dominating run through the district outscoring opponents 194-6. The Warhawks are 2-4 on the season and struggling to find some some district wins, but their passing game does present a different challenge for the Trojans as most of the teams they have played this year have strong ground games. Pleasantville Head Coach Gabe Bakker said despite the low amount of passing attempts against them, he is confident in his team’s ability to continue its solid defensive play. Trojans Continue to Roll, Defeat Bedford 40-6

The number five ranked Pleasantville Trojans celebrated their homecoming game and found themselves once again in the winners circle after scoring early and often against the Bulldogs of Bedford 40-6. On the second play of the game Homecoming King Scout Van Haalen intercepted a pass and scampered into the endzone to put the Trojans up early. The King wasn’t done demonstrating his skills to his subjects either, catching a touchdown pass and returning a kick for a touchdown as well to round out his fantastic night. The shutout streak did end for the defense tonight from a 51 yard touchdown run from the Bulldogs, however through five games they have given up only thirteen points. Pleasantville Head Coach Gabe Bakker said his team played well in all facets of the game. The win brings to Trojans to 5-0 in 2015, and 3-0 in the district. The Trojans will now move on to play one loss Earlham next Friday night broadcasted live on KNIAKRLS.com and our free mobile app via the KNIA3 stream.
