The 5th ranked Pella High volleyball team is just two match wins away from their fifth straight state tournament berth and they look to move a step closer to that tonight when they host Norwalk in a Class 3A Regional Semifinal.

The ninth ranked Pella Christian volleyball team has had a full week off since they opened the post season with a sweep victory over Albia and tonight they return to action in the Class 2A Regional quarterfinals when they host Eddyville Blakesburg.

The Pella boys erased any thoughts Centerville may have had of pulling an upset last night as they jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first 90 seconds of the game on their way to a 24-8 lead after one quarter and outscored the Big Red 59-43 the rest of the way to win 83-51 in the opening round of the Class 3A Boys District Tournament last night.

It didn’t come easy but the Pella volleyball team battled to a 3-1 win over Bondurant Farrar in the Class 3A Regional Final last night to advance to the state tournament for the fourth straight year.
