Power Outage 7-22

MidAmerican crews worked quickly to restore power to some 3000 customers in the Knoxville area Wednesday morning.

The power outage occurred shortly after 8am when the entire substation on Larson Street in Knoxville went down. Street lights along Highway 14 were inoperable, leaving city crews to put up temporary stop signs in those areas.

According to MidAmerican, power was restored to the area at around 8:30am by rerouting power from another grid. They’re still investigating what caused the substation to go offline.
