A national stadium light pole recall, that listed ties to Knoxville, does not affect Marion County. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently announced a recall of more than 2,500 outdoor steel stadium light poles, made by Whitco Company of Texas, in fear of them falling over and posing a potential safety hazard. The U.S. CPSC listed several companies and stadiums across the county, including five in Iowa, who could have been affected by the recall and recommended that use of the products be discontinued until they have been inspected and repaired. KNIA/KRLS news was able to contact the local company who was on the list, Ardent Lighting, and was informed that the poles from Whitco Company were not installed in Marion County. Company officials say the locations that did have the recalled poles installed have been notified.
