The Iowa Legislature will have an early hole to dig out of with the budget this upcoming session.

According to the latest Revenue Estimating Conference, the state will receive nearly $100 million less than previously projected for the current fiscal year. State Senator Ken Rozenboom believes the next session will be challenging, and feels there are numerous avenues to explore when it comes to reducing the cost of government, including a review of collective bargaining laws on the books.

The next session begins on January 9th.
