As previously reported by KNIA/KRLS, Pella Police Chief Micheal Marcinkowski will be retiring in less than a month.

That means the search is on for his replacement. Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini says city staff is in the beginning stages of finding a replacement.

He says in addtion to the duties Marcinkowski was responsible for at the Police Department, he also served as Assistant City Administrator, a role that will also need to be filled by his successor.

No decision has been made on who will act as Chief in the interim. Nardini says they’ll have the post filled as soon as possible.
