Senator Tom Harkin and Mayor Joe Curtaton of Somerville, Massachusetts stopped by the KNIA/KRLS studio in Knoxville on their tour of Iowa communities as they campaigned for President Barack Obama.  Harkin stressed the strong economic comeback that the country is undergoing under the president, and his strengths in foreign policy. Mayor Curtaton is a former supporter of Mitt Romney, with whom he worked with on many issues.  Curtaton tells KNIA/KRLS News that Romney’s policies as Governor were wrong for Massachusetts, and will be wrong for the nation.  He says Iowans should look at Romney’s approval ratings of 35% in Massachusetts, and the fact that he trails President Obama by 15 percentage points in the state when they vote.
