A severe thunderstorm warning was issued Saturday evening as a burst of cool air made the night comfortable for many, but also brought reports of hail and heavy rain to delay the action at Knoxville Raceway.

The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was on the air for the warning issued at 7:30 until 8 p.m., as strong winds and large hail was expected in eastern Warren and western Marion Counties. A trained weather spotter reported 1″ in diameter hail near Deer Run Golf Club in Indianola. A brief downpour was recorded across much of Warren and parts of Marion County as well.

The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team is on the air for any severe thunderstorm or tornado warning for any portion of Marion and Warren Counties, with backup generators ensuring the coverage stays on if the power goes out.
