Lighted Snowflakes were hung up at the intersections on the Knoxville square this week. That’s according to Dennis Webb of the Knoxville Public Works department, who says a total of 28 snowflakes are planned to be hung. He says crews are enjoying the warm weather in putting up the four-foot lighted snowflakes, which are part of the Knoxville Streetscape Committee’s efforts to prepare the downtown for the holidays. People on the square also heard holiday music Tuesday, as Iowa Telecom was testing the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce’s speaker system on the square, which it hopes to have running in time for the holidays.
