The affects of proposed state spending cuts are being felt locally. Betty Moll, Director of the Marion County Point of Coordination, the office that assists people with issues concerning the Department of Human Services says things have been more difficult in her office since DHS left in July and adds that losing 200 additional workers will make things worse. Moll says the loss of beds at the Mt. Pleasant facility will put added stress on the system. She says these consolidations leave the people most in need of services behind, and urges the Legislature to rethink the issue.
