State Climatologist Harry Hillaker says Marion County took the brunt of a winter storm that moved throught the state, leaving about an inch and a half of snow on the ground which casued numerous accidents around Marion County.

Strong storms made their way through Iowa Tuesday, damaging the Lynnville-Sully School. Superintendent Shane Ehresman tells KNIA/KRLS news the storm hit around 1pm and strong winds took off half the roof of the middle school gymnasium where students were eating lunch below.

Marion County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum tells KNIA KRLS News that county road crews are using this morning to prepare for the winter storm predicted to arrive this afternoon.
