School Superintendent Tom Messenger has just started another year on his three year contract with the Newton School District. He’s currently overseeing additions and renovations to two elementary schools. But Messenger says improving student achievement is always a priority.
“The School Improvement Advisory Committee talked about some of the behaviors, and some of our communication about bullying. Taking all of those different things into account and making sure that we are setting up a safe learning environment for our kids and supporting our kids to learn.”
Messenger says supporting teachers is also another big factor in student achievement, which he calls the main purpose for school administrators and teachers.
