Residents ages 65 and older may be eligible for tax credits. Marion County Treasurer Michaela Bigaouette spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the credit.

“Elderly and Disabled tax credits are an important vehicle we can offer to our low-income elderly or disabled residents. There are a couple of important things to remember. The form is due by June 1 and if you are qualified for the tax credits please call our office so we can get the form as soon as possible so you can get the form back to us.”

Bigaouette says there has been a new part added this year.

“This year they have added another layer of qualification for residents aged 70 and over. We encourage anyone over 70 to see if they qualify for the credits and to contact our office so we can get them the form as well.”
