Three Iowa Conference student-athletes were chosen to receive an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, and one of them was Central football kick returner, Taylor Cox. To be eligible for the selection, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.2 GPA, have performed with distinction in athletics, and behaved on and off the field in a manner that brought credit to the athlete, the institution, and intercollegiate athletics. In 2015, Cox averaged over 30 yards per kick return and nearly 15 per punt return, earning him second team All-Iowa Conference honors as a return specialist. Cox is a biology major with minors in chemistry, Spanish, and psychology, and he carries a 4.0 GPA. He will receive $7,500 for postgraduate study as he pursues a doctorate in medicine at the University of Iowa in the fall.
