Texas Governor Rick Perry will be in Pella this week. Perry will be at the Smoky Row Coffee Shop in Pella on Wednesday at 3:30 in the afternoon. Irene Blom, Republican County Chair told KNIA/KRLS that anyone who is interested should come to the event. Many Republican presidential hopefuls have been in Knoxville and Pella, campaigning for the caucuses. According to the latest Iowa State University Poll, Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich are neck and neck for the lead with 28% and 25% support in the state respectively. Mitt Romney is close behind at 18% , and Rick Perry is polling at 11% in Iowa. The rest of the presidential hopefuls are listed in single digit support. The Iowa Caucuses are a week away, on Tuesday, January 3rd, KNIAKRLS will be there providing live coverage of the Caucuses.

For those north of the river in Marion county, the Republican caucus will be held at Pella Christan High School and for those south of the river, the Republican Caucus will be at Knoxville High School. The doors will open at 6:00 with the actual process set to start at 7:00.
There are two locations in the county that will be holding Democrat caucuses. People that live in townships and precincts south of the river will convene at Knoxville Middle School. Those living in townships and precincts north of the river will convene at Lincoln Elementary School in Pella. The Democrat Caucuses will start at 7:00.
