Now that the Knoxville School Board has passed the 2015-2016 school calendar with 2-hour late starts on Mondays, one thing Superintendent Cassi Murra says will be a priority to help with this change are improvements to transportation.

Murra says while it’s an expensive issue, getting students to school is important to improve their attendance and how well they learn. It’s also less stressful to parents.
With around seven months to prepare for the upcoming changes, Murra feels there is plenty of time to develop their options. She thinks parents will be happier with the changes and the opportunity students will have in the long run.
