A pair of home runs by shortstop Annie Sarcone highlighted a strong close to the Tucson Invitational Games, as the Dutch notched a 10-4 comeback victory over Gustavus Adolphus College and a 10-3 triumph over Dickinson State University on Saturday.

A smart and gutsy decision by catcher Caitlyn Meyer resulted in a dramatic game-winning double play, as the Central College softball team held on for a 5-4 victory over Trinity University yesterday in Tucson.

Shortstop Annie Sarcone and first baseman Kyrie Hale each knocked in five runs as the No. 9-ranked Central College softball team rebounded from a disappointing loss by hammering Denison University 12-2 and Lakeland College 12-1 in a pair of five-inning games Thursday.  

The early-season miscues that the Central College softball team managed to avoid through its first eight games all seemed to surface Wednesday as the Dutch escaped Sul Ross State 5-3 then surrendered a seventh-inning lead in stumbling to a 10-5 loss to Wisconsin-La Crosse.  

Relying upon their bench to provide the team with some added depth, the Central College softball team earned a pair of victories Sunday night as they continued play at the Tucson Invitational Games.

The Central College softball team suffered its first defeat of the season Saturday night, falling 4-3 in nine innings to Division II McKendree University after picking up a 4-1 win over Alfred College earlier in the day.
