For the first time since 2002, the Pella High boys soccer team has earned a spot in the State Tournament, and the Little Dutch are aiming to make the most of the opportunity. Led by senior captains Grant Barrick, Tukker Bogaard and Sam Davis, Pella has assembled a 17-2-1 overall record and will open up the tournament against Spirit Lake Park-Okoboji tomorrow afternoon. KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall talked with the captains after practice in an interview featured in this week’s Marion County PM Sports Page program to ask what it took to get to this point, how they’ve improved along the way, and why this team has what it takes to be a State Champion.

Tukker Bogaard recorded a hat trick and the Pella boys soccer team picked up its first win of the regular season, as the Dutch routed Fairfield 8-0 Friday night at the Pella High School Athletic Complex.
