The US Army Corps of Engineers has just released a study of the Des Moines River stating the risk of floods like those of 1993 and 2008 is greater than previously estimated.

For months the Red Rock Lake Association, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and dozens of volunteers have been working to establish the Hickory Ridge camp, now the plan for the site has been significantly expanded.
