US Census workers will begin to perform in-person visits to contact those residents and families who have not responded via mail, email, or telephone. City of Indianola Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the census is important for the community, as it will help the city with future planning and where to allocate resources in order to best serve the residents.

All census takers have completed COVID-19 training on social distancing and other health and safety protocols before beginning their work in neighborhoods. If someone visits your home to collect information for the 2020 Census, check to make sure they have a valid ID badge with their photograph, a U.S. Department of Commerce watermark, and an expiration date.
