The Trojan wrestling team had a very successful season, sending four wrestlers to the state tournament and winning many meets throughout the season. The squad had just one senior grappler on the team, and with a record of 11-24 it might be easy to overlook his contribution to the team.

Travis Daggett had not been on the team since he was a freshman but first year head coach Heath DeForest did not overlook everything he brought to the team. DeForest tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that Daggett is the epitome of his message to his team, it doesn’t matter how talented you are you can only control two things, effort and attitude. DeForest went on to say how every team needs someone like Daggett on their team. The Trojans had three wrestlers place at the state tournament, and plan on an aggressive offseason to improve on that mark.
