Property at Stepping Stones Early Learning Center was damaged late last week and the Knoxville Police Department is looking for information on the case.

Stepping Stones Director Pam Mahoney tells KNIA/KRLS news three windows on their van and the window of the Headstart classroom was shot out while the center was closed last weekend. Mahoney says there were no children or staff in the building at the time of the incident therefore no one was in danger.

Mahoney says the vandalism did not interrupt any classes at the center and the van windows are being replaced this week.

Fortunately, Mahoney does not feel that the children at Stepping Stones are in any type of danger after the incident though they are saddened that someone would do this to a building they are so proud of. She says they’ve worked very hard to provide a quality center for Knoxville’s children and this type of vandalism seems so senseless.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call the Knoxville Police Department at 828-0541.
