The Week of the Young Child is wrapping up. The Week of the Young Child promotes early literacy efforts for young children. Amy Zuck with Crossroads Cares, part of Crossroads of Pella, says every moment in a child’s life is a learning moment. She encourages child caregivers to limit television time, and read to their child. She says something as simple as providing a comfortable place for a child to read, and giving them plenty of reading material, can improve their readiness for kindergarten and increase their vocabulary.
