pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville Trojan boys basketball team’s season came to an end Thursday night at Van Meter High School as the Trojans fell to the Woodward-Granger Hawks 58-33 in the class 2A substate 6 quarterfinal. The Hawks would control the game from start to finish with stifling defense holding Pleasantville to just 12 points at half and just 17 after three quarters as the Hawks would lead 43-17 entering the fourth quarter. Sophomore Mason Scheve and senior Teron Mount would lead the Trojans with 10 points each but the rest of the Trojans would only muster 13 combined points as the Trojans end their season at 11-11 overall. Head Coach Joel Allman tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Trojans season didn’t go the way they wanted, but sometimes it’s not all about what goes on, on the court.  Allman says his guys never quit, they practiced hard and treated people well, played hard and never made excuses. He says it’s a credit to the seniors but it’s too bad they had to learn a life lesson through this season of perseverance. Allman says at the end of the day it will be the most important thing they take away, all the adversity they faced and how they responded. Pleasantville will say goodbye to seniors Tagen Douma, Teron Mount, Mitch Harken, Brady Wiseman and Jeremy Colboth.
