Pella was among the hardest hit areas by this evening’s storms, with street flooding and low visibility reported due to rain.

Pouring rain and gusty winds prompted a severe thunderstorm warning in the eastern part of Marion County earlier this evening.

IN THE PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS MARION COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO 32 CALLS FOR SERVICE INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FOUR RETURN PHONE CALLS, TWO MOTORIST ASSISTS, ONE EXTRA PATROL, ONE SUSPICIOUS PERSON, ONE ACCIDENT, ONE ANIMAL CARCASS, ONE JUVENILE, ONE SUICIDAL SUBJECT, THREE CIVIL ISSUES, EIGHT ATTEMPTS AT PAPER SERVICE, ONE FOLLOW UP, ONE WANTED PERSON, THREE SUSPICIOUS VEHICLES, ONE RESCUE, ONE INCOMPLETE 911, ONE ANIMAL BITE, AND ONE OPEN DOOR. IN THE PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS THE MARION COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER FIELDED 105 CALLS INCLUDING 14 911 CALLS. THE MARION COUNTY JAIL IS CURRENTLY HOLDING 48 SUBJECTS.
