Overnight Forecast Update: Worst Conditions Expected Through Mid-Morning

According to the National Weather Service, conditions will worsen overnight as freezing rain passes through central Iowa.

Travel is Not Recommended; Roadways Dangerously Slick

Area roadways are 100% ice covered and are dangerously slick. Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt tells KNIA/KRLS News that travel is not advised.

The Iowa DOT reports many state highways are partially covered with ice, including Highway 5 west of Pleasantville. Highway 163 from Monroe to Prairie City is ice covered.

The one to count on for today’s severe weather and road condition information is KNIA/KRLS.

Hatch, Charged With Sexual Exploitation, Was a Student Teacher Last Fall in Knoxville

In an update to Thursday’s story of former Knoxville High School Assistant Wrestling Coach Tyler Hatch being charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee, KNIA/KRLS News has learned Hatch was a student teacher at the school in the fall of 2016 when the alleged sexual contact with an 18 year-old student occurred.
