A TORNADO WATCH has been issued for Marion County, and counties to our north, south, and east. The National Weather Service reports conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms with tornadoes in and close to the watch area. The watch is in effect until 10:00 p.m.

THE PAST TWENTY–FOUR HOURS THE MARION COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO 22 CALLS FOR SERVICE INClUDING: ONE ACCIDENT WITH PROPERTY DAMAGE, THREE MOTORIST ASSISTS, TWO RETURNED PHONE CALLS, TWO SUSPICIOUS PEOPLE IN THE AREA, FIVE RECKLESS DRIVER COMPLAINTS, ONE PAPER SERVICE, ONE CIVIL ISSUE, ONE REPORT OF CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, ONE COMPLAINT OF DISTURBING THE PEACE AND QUIET, ONE REPORT OF ATVS ON THE ROADWAY AND FOUR OTHER CALLS FOR SERVICE. THE MARION COUNTY JAIL IS CURRENTLY HOLDING 39 SUBJECTS.
