With jobs hard to come by in the current market, the opening of a new Applebee’s Restaurant in Pella has created a lot of interest amongst job-seekers. General Manager Justin Trenkamp tells KNIA/KRLS News that he and his assistant managers have been flooded with applications and are interviewing as many as twenty applicants a day.

Currently, equipment is being set up in the kitchen and bar areas of the restaurant, and plans are for management to take over operations inside the new building in about two weeks. Training with Applebee’s representatives will take place for one week, beginning November 9th, with hopes to open on Monday, November 16th. When it opens, Trenkamp says the Applebee’s in Pella will employ roughly 100 workers.
