Arendahl upped his record to 10-2 heading into the holiday break. Freshman Houston Naakpeboren finished third at heavyweight with his only loss coming in the semifinals to a senior wrestler from Dallas Center Grimes who he fell to for the second time in two weeks. Burch also noted he was pleased with some of his younger wrestlers as well who showed improvements even though they didn’t finish as high as they wished. Austin LaFollette and Zac Stough finished 4th at 119 and 171, Kyle Langstraat at 112. and Lane Whitaker at 160 each finished 5th. Pella had three open weight classes and Burch said that hurt them in the team points. Eddyville Blakesburg won the tournament with Norwalk and Dallas Center Grimes rounding out the top three teams. Pella is now off for the holiday break until January.
