The Knoxville girls kept their unbeaten season alive with a ragged and somewhat bumpy road in a 47-32 win over Chariton last night. The Panthers lead only 19-10 at the half due to 2/14 from the three point line. However in the second half the defensive wick was turned up and more shots started falling. Coach Jim Utimarkt said as the lead grew to double figures he started to feel a little better about things. Sam Abens led with 13 points, and Lacey Stevenson added 11. Bethany Just scored nine and saved at least three possessions on hustle plays. Utimarkt said she did things last night that will not show up in the stat book, and the rest of the team noticed and started playing with more fire after Just made a couple of plays. Knoxville finishes the oh/nine portion of the season at nine-and-oh for the second straight year, the Panthers are off until a date with Pella on January fifth for first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
