The Pella and PCM girls battled to the finish Saturday night in Monroe before Pella pulled off a 47-45 win. Pella led by as much as ten points late in the third quarter but PCM didn’t go down easy on their home floor. The Mustangs battled back to tie the game at 45-45 with just six seconds remaining in the game. Following a PCM timeout the Mustangs were called for a foul which sent Hali Steenhoek to the free throw line for Pella. Steenhoek sank both free throws and Pella escaped with the two point win. Lindsay Bentziner led Pella with 12 points, Hali Steenhoek and Kelsey Fynaardt each scored 10. Taylor Van Roekel led PCM with 15 points. Pella improved to 10-2 with the win while PCM dropped to 10-6 overall. Pella travels to South Tama tomorrow night.
